Grand Canyon Backcountry Permit

GrandCanyonBackcountryPermit.png

We faxed in our Grand Canyon Backcountry Permit Application this week. So our application will now get pooled with all written requests for September that are received between April 20th and May 1st. Then that pool of requests will be processed in random order (Backcountry Permit - Grand Canyon National Park). We tried to indicate a pretty flexible itinerary to increase our chances of being accepted for September. Our itinerary is for five days/four nights. Our preferred plan is to start on the North Rim, spend the first night at a campground half way down, spend nights two and three at the bottom and then the final night halfway up the South Rim, but we said we would also accept the reverse order (South Rim to North Rim). We should hear back before the end of May indicating whether our permit has been issued or not. Wish us luck!
